About Tea Day

What is Alzheimer's Tea Day?

Tea Day is a social occasion where thousands of people - friends, family, work colleagues, neighbours - come together to drink tea and raise money for The Alzheimer Society of Ireland. This year we want to make it a real Day to Remember.

When is Tea Day?

This year the official Alzheimer's Tea Day is Thursday 5th May. But you can hold yours on a day that suits you close to the official date if you prefer. The important thing is to raise as much money as possible. This year we're hoping to reach €550,000! So setting a target for your guests to beat could work wonders.

Where is Tea Day held?

Many hosts hold parties in their own homes with friends. Parties are also held in schools, workplaces, church halls, just about anywhere you can enjoy a nice hot cuppa will do!

What about Tea Day supplies?

Once you've registered you'll be provided with whatever supplies you request - posters, personal invitations, collection box, raffle tickets and your own specially coded bank Giro. Please be sure to order by Thursday 21st April to guarantee arrival by Tea Day.

How much should people give?

Whatever your guests feel is appropriate. For every €25 raised we can provide an extra hour of care in your area. There are plenty of ways to encourage donations, like raffles, auctions and games. Be creative!

How do I return collections to The Alzheimer Society of Ireland?

After the Tea Party, lodge the money you collect at any Bank of Ireland branch using the pre-coded Giro we'll provide you, or use the donate page on this site.

What if I can't host a Tea Day but want to donate?

If you can't host a tea party this year but would like to make a donation, all you have to do is complete the online donation form and send it to us.
